The friendly and qualified staff at the Hyde Park Lumber Company will work with you every step of the way to ensure your project meets and exceeds your expectations. Whether you are working with or without floor plans, Hyde Park's commitment to excellence and streamlined process will ensure that your design and installation is implemented flawlessly and effortlessly.

At Hyde Park we work with the latest in computer aided design software. The specifications for your job will be entered into a design software program that can create a custom panel design and contains a comprehensive library of rails, stiles, cabinetry and trim.

  • Custom Panel Design
  • Over 10,000 moldings
  • Dozens of door styles
  • Hundreds of decorative hardware items

The computer will generate renderings of the room, complete with all the panels on the walls and any cabinetry in place. The rendering will include floor-to-ceiling views of each wall as well as dimensional views from any perspective in the room. These renderings can act as an installation guide and will include a cut list that itemizes and prices each of the components needed for the job.

  • Step #1 Draw a floor plan including the approximate location of doors, windows and any other openings. Begin measuring from the right side of any door or corner in the room. Measure to the right to the nearest off-set, opening or wall. Continue measuring to the right. Write the measurements on the floor plan and label it "Wall A"
  • Step #2 Now measure the entire length of the wall to your right and write the inches on you floor plan. Label it "Wall B". (Always measure the length of the wall at the top of the room and the bottom, using the longest measurement).
After measuring the length of the "Wall B", if there are any doors, windows or off-sets, measure the distance they are from the walls and from each other and write the measurements on the floor plan, including the width of all windows, doors and off-sets.
  • Step #3 Continue Step #2 for "Wall C", and "Wall D" until you have returned and completed "Wall A", writing the measurements on the floor plan.
If you are measuring for Wainscoting only, on the walls with windows, make a notation of the floor plan of the distance from the floor to the bottom of each window. No more measurements will be needed.
  • Step #4 If you are measuring a room to be fully paneled from floor to ceiling, you will need to measure the height of the doors, the distance from the top of each door and window to the ceiling, and the distance from the bottom of each window to the floor.
